Product Ops: Day 61 - 90 in role

This is the third of a three-part series exploring what the first 90 days in a Product Operations role should typically involve. Here, I explore the third 30 days - where it is time to start implementing your plans and improving lives!

This guidance is for both experienced Product Ops folks as well as those new in role.

Before I begin, at or around day 60 is just a handy timescale. You may still be planning, or you may be well into implementation by now. Do not be concerned about matching your journey dates with mine, but focus more on any expectations of your teams and leaders.

But here we are, you have your plans and everyone is excited to see the improvements you will make!

Iteration

It would take forever to outline how you could improve each and every function and every permutation of this. And above all, it is not right to do so. Your business is unique with unique individuals and personalities, covering different markets, customers, technology and budgets - the list is endless. Where they need improvement and change is up to them and up to you to decide. That is what makes Product Operations exciting!

There are countless examples too of where others have implemented specific assets or processes, successfully or not, that you can draw inspiration from. Some examples available on Practical Product Operations include:

There is however one approach that seems universally agreed upon, and it is hardly original! That is to iterate your improvements.
